This policy explains how Ritchie Business Intelligence Ltd (trading as Ritchie BI; “we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses your personal data when you use the Operational Clarity Assessment. We are the data controller for this information.
When you complete the assessment, we collect:
We do not intentionally collect special-category (sensitive) data, please don’t include sensitive personal information in the free-text note.
Submissions are stored as data files in Cloudflare R2 object storage, operated by Cloudflare, Inc. as our processor, and our site is served via Cloudflare. We do not sell your data or share it with any third party for their own marketing, and there is no third-party sharing beyond this storage.
Cloudflare may process or store data outside the UK/EEA. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
This assessment does not use cookies, analytics or advertising/tracking technologies, and stores nothing on your device. The page loads typeface files from Google Fonts; in serving those files Google receives your IP address as a standard part of the request, but no cookies are set by us.
We retain your submission for 13 months, after which it is deleted, unless we are required to keep it longer to meet a legal obligation, or you become a customer (in which case a separate retention period applies).
Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the email or by contacting us. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or your local EU supervisory authority.
We may update this policy from time to time; the “last updated” date above shows the latest version.

12 questions generate your score, four for each of the three categories: visibility, decision confidence and focus.
Each question is answered on a scale from strongly disagree to strongly agree. The questions describe operational pain points, so agreeing signals a problem and disagreeing signals strength. A perfect score, no problems at all, is 100.
Operational Maturity Score, the average of your three category scores. Each category score is built from its four questions by inverting your level of agreement: the more you disagree that the pain points apply to you, the higher the score. 0 means you strongly agree with every pain point; 100 means you strongly disagree with all of them.
Benchmark, the median score from 14 manufacturers, across sectors such as components, defence, automotive, FMCG and shipbuilding, broadly reflective of the wider industry.
Leaders, a score of 75, reflective of highly mature operations. On average, an organisation at this level would disagree with the pain points in the questions.
Recommendations, three sections, one for the greatest pain point in each category. Each starts with the common causes of the pain point, followed by the target state (what good looks like once it’s resolved), and finishes with the immediate next steps to close the gap.
